Bed blanket flammability tester

3. Test standard description

The Bed Blanket Burn Tester tests specimens in accordance with the ASTM D4151 test standard.

The sample preparation and testing process is complicated. Specimens and test operations can be prepared according to the operating instructions.

The main operation steps and some useful operation tips of the operation manual of the bed blanket burning tester will be presented as follows.

The instrument is completed in strict accordance with the standard drawings, fully complies with and can achieve the test content required by the standard. The ignition time can be set arbitrarily and can be recorded accurately to 0.01s.

The instrument contains:
(1) Flowmeter: adjust the gas flow.
(2) Fire pipe: The gas is first connected to the flowmeter through the hose, and then into the fire pipe through the hose at the rear of the box.
(3) Windshield: glass is placed on the upper part of the windshield. The test was carried out in a fume hood, and the round hole at the top of the box and the gap on the windshield caused the gas to form convection.
(4) Control panel: Power-power switch; Start: start the internal motor operation, after the flamethrower is moved to the test position (the vertical distance from the center of the sample is 8mm, and the horizontal distance is 3.2mm), the internal timing switch is activated; Reset: timing reset/fire tube reset.
(5) Sample fixture and sample holder. There are knobs on the base plate of the sample holder that can be adjusted to move left and right. By loosening and tightening the knobs, the base plate of the sample holder can be moved and fixed.
(6) Timer: Displays the set and actual ignition time. After the timer is cleared, the fire tube can complete the required movement, otherwise the fire tube cannot return to the initial position after moving forward.
