Fluorescent UV light from UV lamps, etc. can reproduce the effects of sunlight, condensation and water spray systems can reproduce the effects of rain and dew. The irradiation energy and temperature were controlled throughout the test cycle. A typical test cycle is usually UV exposure at high temperature and a dark humid condensation cycle at 100% relative humidity; typical applications are paint coatings, automotive industry, plastic products, wood products, glues, etc.

BUV all use imported UV lamps as experimental light sources. Compared with other types of lamps (including xenon arc lamps), fluorescent UV lamps are more stable. The spectral power distribution (SPD) does not change as the lamp ages, even up to 6000 hours of use. This results in more repeatable test results, while fewer lamp replacements and lower operating costs.

Irradiance can be automatically calibrated:

Like any lamp, the energy of a BUV's UV lamp decreases with age. The BUV control system compensates for the diminished lamp energy by increasing the lamp energy. However, as the lamp is used for longer and longer, the lamp can continue to weaken. At relatively high set points, the BUV will not be able to maintain the corresponding irradiance, at which point the system will prompt a fault "Large irradiance error" and shut down. At this time, the user needs to use the BUV radiometer for calibration.

BUVs are calibrated by our company's self-developed irradiance calibrator; users can also use one calibrator to calibrate multiple BUVs. It specifically measures fluorescent UV lamps, and it can be used to calibrate both UVA and UVB lamps. For UVB lamps, the irradiance calibrator has been calibrated at 310nm, in W/m2/nm; for UVA lamps, the irradiance calibrator has been calibrated at 340nm, in W/m2/nm.
